Objectives

Develop and activate the use a vehicle specially equipped to provide purified water and basic services to communities in emergency situations caused by natural disasters, with the end goal of meeting basic human needs and preventing illnesses spread.

The specific objectives are:
  1. Develop a model of a functional vehicle that can be replicated in the future in other zones of Latin America
  2. Seek the support of other organizations that contribute with their knowledge to guarantee the total effectiveness of the vehicle
  3. Support the immediate response of the authorities which concern on water and health services to the communities of Mexico that go throguh a natural disaster

Description of the Project

The vehicle will be operating during its first phase within Mexico and shall be installed in places that are declared disaster zones for at least the first 72 hours after the event

The vehicle shall be comprised of the following:
  • Mobile purification equipment that has the necessary adaptations to treat water obtained from any source, including a dam, pond, spontaneous deposit, etcetera and has capacity to provide up to 50 thousand liters of purified water daily with a continuous flow of 0.5 liters per second. The truck will be able to provide quantities of purified water ranging from one 19-liter water jug up to an entire tank truck
  • An installation to allow operators to provide first aid and deliver basic medical supplies to the population as well as support the health institutions of the municipality
