Jose Antonio Fernández Carbajal is Chairman and CEO of FEMSA. Mr. Fernandez joined FEMSA in 1987.He served as the Chief Executive Officer of OXXO, held positions in FEMSA’s corporate division and in the commercial department of the Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma Brewery.
Mr. Fernández is also President of the Board of of Coca-Cola FEMSA and of FEMSA Foundation; and Vice Chairman of the Board of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Additionally, he serves on the boards of Grupo Financiero BBVA Bancomer, Grupo Industrial Bimbo, Industrias Peñoles, Aerolíneas Volaris, Grupo Televisa, among others.
He co-chairs the Advisory board of the Mexico Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center, and has taught the course of Planning Systems in the Industrial and Systems Engineering degree at the Tecnológico de Monterrey for over a decade.
Mr. Fernandez has a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering and an M.B.A. from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
