During 2010, FEMSA Foundation increased its presence outside Mexico, providing benefits to populations in Central and South America. Our goal is to be an instrument that generates social value in every country where FEMSA operates, which is why in 2010 we increased our presence in Latin America. However, going farther geographically is not an end in itself, but answers to our most important goal: To be an instrument that creates social value. For FEMSA Foundation, this means reaching more communities with long-term solutions focused on water conservation and its sustainable use as well as improving the quality of life of its inhabitants. It also means supporting innovation through education, science, and technology; in search of new ways to solve problems in our two focus areas.
Throughout this year, FEMSA Foundation’s work has resulted in significant achievements. Our projects have grown and demonstrated their ability to be replicated in more communities, of going further. This year’s report sets out our achievements in figures that show the progress of each project. However, what we want to share is that behind every number you see there are people. Behind every hard fact there are communities involved in the conservation of their watersheds. Behind each amount there are men and women who receive the water they need following a natural disaster. For those of us in FEMSA Foundation, they are our motivation, what drives us to continue working to make a better future for all.
